Frequently Asked Questions
Your guide to gear, shipping, and service at Hockey Direct
How do I know which hockey stick length is right for me?
As a general rule, when standing without skates, the stick should reach between your chin and your nose. With skates on, it should reach your chin. You can always trim a composite stick, but keep in mind this will increase the stiffness (flex) of the shaft.
What is your return policy on used equipment?
For hygiene and safety reasons, we can only accept returns on items in their original, unused condition with tags attached. Once a stick has been taped or a pair of skates has been baked or sharpened, they are no longer eligible for return.
How long does shipping take for oversized items like goal nets?
Standard shipping for equipment typically takes 3-5 business days. However, oversized items like goals or heavy training aids may require freight shipping, which can take 7-10 business days depending on your location.
Do you offer skate sharpening services for online orders?
To ensure the best fit and safety, we ship all skates with a factory edge (unsharpened). We recommend visiting a local pro shop for your initial sharpening to ensure the hollow is customized to your weight and skating style.
Are your products covered by a manufacturer warranty?
Yes, most composite sticks come with a one-time 30-day replacement warranty managed by the manufacturer. Protective gear and skates typically carry a 90-day warranty against manufacturing defects.
Do you offer team discounts for bulk jersey or equipment orders?
Absolutely. We offer tiered pricing for teams, schools, and clubs ordering 10 or more units of the same item. Please contact our Team Sales department for a custom quote and lead times.
